Just the Right Dress...Maybe?

Posted on November 20, 2013 by AUTHOR (edit in theme settings)
This time of year should stir up much joy in us! The family gatherings, friend get-togethers, office parties, and holiday galas give all of us something to look forward to. However, have you ever wondered what attire you should wear to that special event? You ask yourself' "I don't want to show up over- or under-dressed." Well, I have noticed that even when you ask "experts" they often preface their answers with "usually". So, I am hoping that I can clear up that "what should I wear" confusion with the simple list & examples that follow. Of course, you can always call the host/hostess and ask them what the appropriate dress is for the event.

From most formal to least formal:

1. WHITE TIE -  Long, floor length formal evening gown

2. BLACK TIE - Floor length evening gown or your dressiest cocktail dress

3. CREATIVE BLACK TIE - Floor length evening gown or dressiest cocktail dress with creative, fun accessories

4. BLACK TIE OPTIONAL - Floor length gown, dressy cocktail dress, dressy little black dress, or dressy separates

5. SEMI-FORMAL - Short cocktail dress, little black dress, long dressy skirt and blouse, or dressy separates

6. FESTIVE ATTIRE (usually for the holiday season) - Cocktail dress, little black dress, long dressy skirt and dressy pants outfit, dressy separates, holiday accessories and colors

7. BUSINESS FORMAL - Suit, business style dress (structure), dress with a jacket, low or high heels (always abide by your company's dress code)

8. BUSINESS CASUAL - Skirt, khakis, or pants, open collar shirt, knit shirt, or sweater, casual style dress (no spaghetti straps or low necklines)

Lovely in Lace

Posted on August 26, 2013 by AUTHOR (edit in theme settings)

Lace is no stranger to the fashion world. However, this Fall it seems to be saturated in every apparel line from casual wear to red carpet gowns. Whether you want to feel feminine and/or sophisticated, lace fabrication will create  the silhouette you have dreamt of. With the popularity of vintage style clothing, women are pairing lace tanks, blouses, and sweaters with their favorite jeans. Homecoming 2013 has shown a very strong trend of laces in short and long formals. Classic sequins or intricate beading on lace adds beautiful detail to any cocktail or formal gown. Finally, after several years of lace wedding gowns in the market, bridesmaids dresses have caught up! One of GGM's bridesmaid lines (Morilee) has created several full lace cocktail and formal dresses. Strapless, v-neck, one shoulder, and halter bodices are included in their lace bridesmaid line. You are sure to be LOVELY IN LACE no matter what your occasion!

If you love the throwback vintage look this A-line dress is perfect. Pockets included.

This lace and chiffon dress exudes our title, "Lovely in Lace".

This fall bridesmaid designers have made a lot of brides happy by offering a variety of lace styles.
